UD physical therapy professor protects patients across the state

A UD physical therapy professor has taken a leadership role in Ohio's health care system. She was recently appointed to the state's board of physical therapy and occupational therapy. She also serves on the board of the Ohio Physical Therapy Association. She has worked as a physical therapist for over 34 years and has been at UD for 16 years.


In addition to leading the Department's clinical faculty, she oversees the day-to-day operations of the clinical education program. She also manages more than 300 clinical sites and places and monitors 150 physical therapy internships each year. In addition, she engages in scholarly activity and contributes to the Department's mission.


NHS Confed Expo

NHS Confed Expo brings together health professionals and partners to discuss the most pressing issues in the NHS today. The event will feature presentations by health system leaders from primary care networks, integrated care systems and national ข่าวIT. Apple Ultra Watch

Apple has introduced the Apple Ultra Watch, an updated version of the Apple Watch that uses the S8 chip, a 64-bit dual-core processor. Like its predecessors, the S8 features the same design but is equipped with a more powerful chip, bringing Bluetooth 5.0 to the product line. In addition, the new Ultra includes sensors that detect blood oxygen saturation. Normal blood oxygen saturation is around ninety-five percent, and readings below that may indicate a serious health condition.


The Ultra also offers an improved multiband GPS system, with an additional L5 frequency. This feature helps people retrace their steps if they happen to go off the grid. Another new feature is the Compass app, included in watchOS 9. This app allows you to mark points of interest on maps and track your location. There is also a dedicated action button that triathletes can use to transition between races. The Apple Watch Ultra will also have an auto-detect feature later this year, and an 86 decibel siren, which is useful in emergency situations.


UD physical therapy professor wins energy innovation award

Dr. Cindy Flom-Meland, a professor in the UD College of Physical Therapy, has won an award for her energy innovation work. Her work has received international and national recognition. In 2012, she was named one of the top thirteen most innovative people in health care, according to the "Health Future 100." And in 2015, she was named a fellow of the National Academy of Inventors.
